Management and GIS Analysis for Massachusetts Audubon
When Massachusetts Audubon was awarded grants to create an interactive tool and web-map that identifies specific parcels important for conservation, they turned to LandVest’s Boston GIS Department for help. The team created a powerful tool that allows any user to select and prioritize specific parcels for conservation at a town, county, or watershed scale.
The priorities of important Massachusetts conservation projects are incorporated into the tool, as well as parcel size, block size, and adjacency to existing protected lands. The website condenses hours of GIS analysis into a tool that runs within minutes and provides information on specific land owners for follow-up contact. LandVest led this complex, multi-month project with Massachusetts Audubon and The Nature Conservancy staff.
